I was going to keep mum about the ballyhoo raging in the North.
The alleged threat by the Arewa Youths.
Before I delve into the pertinent topic,I want to intimate you on the fact that no sane person, when I mean SANE. I mean a well meaning northerner like those I met during my hay days in KANO MODEL SCHOOL will galvanize this kind of fiasco.
Remember Idi Amin of Uganda when he sent the Asians packing.
Don't forget Robert Mugabe when he sent the white farmers packing.
What was the aftermath?
These tantrums are been orchestrated by under-educated, mediocre, entitlement mentality laden, incorrigible and unscrupulous negligible populace of the AREWA dynasty.
I hate to say this but I have to say it.
The North is not paved with gold.
The resilience and Entrepreneurial Spirit and the effort from different ethnic group that flood this geographical location resulting from their synergy and associations brings about this assumed wealth.
I am not a man that is motivated by sentiments but facts.
I have lived in virtually all geographical segment of this establishment called NIGERIA. I was born in Kano, had my elementary and high-school education in the ancient city and a city I consider blessed and hold in high esteem.
Now listen,Kano is what it is as a result of the accommodating spirit of its founding fathers.
I was born in the early 90's. History and experience helps me note a few nuggets that would be the basis of my debate not debacle.
I am from a well to do family,we made virtually all of our wealth in other peoples land. My grandfather lived in far-away Kumba in Cameroon as a wealthy merchant.
My own father migrated to Kano as an apprentice to his Uncle who still owns estate in Kano up till date.
My own immediate family has an estate in the region of 8 digits in the same Kano City.
We are responsible and not nuisance to the community where ever we dwell.
I recall growing up under my father;he sent me on errands to different organizations and companies that he did business with.
I don't want to call names but I remember the Late Monarch,HRH Alhaji Ado Bayero was a major shareholder in most of this companies.
If he were alive.I know with all certainty that he would definitely frown at this nonsense because he knows the power of a people sojourning.
If you send this people packing because you envy what they have acquired over time.
I have few candid questions for you.
1)Have you thought of been responsible for your well being?
2)Have you ever thought of the risks involved in leaving home?
3)Have you ever established a business before, even if it fails?
I have a few suggestion for any aggravated person who thinks the visitors have eventually become rich.
1)Go to other peoples land. No man has ever made it big in his comfort zone.
2)Travel to a far away state and carve a niche for yourself.
We have Aliko Dangote and Abdulsamad Rabiu;these guys were born in Kano but have conglomerates spread around the country. They did not only concentrate on their homeland.
Some Arewa youths have never left Ungogo and you are complaining about someone that travelled over 800KM to seek greener pastures.
As the proverbial Hausa cliche goes;"KIFIN RIJIYA" that's what you are.
Don't repeat history. Don't forget that no man is an Island.
If you ask us to go. With all pleasure we are going to go. We have homes.
But few years down the road, you are still going to beg us to come back.
